Walking Running Shoes
What are the best shoes for walking / running on a rough asphalt runway,?
to be more specific, that better resist wear in the heel, ensuring a longer shoe life?
If you want blisters on the soles of the feet, then run barefoot. Blisters, however, can easily become infected and lead to all sorts of other problems. No offense, but that has to be one of the worst pieces of advice I've seen when tries to run. In other words, my advice is NO running barefoot on an asphalt track: If you want a running shoe has excellent cushioning and support in the heel, then I suggest Nike Air Pegasus. It is perhaps the best shoe Nike has ever done. Nor is it the most expensive shoe on the market. When I ran the 1991 Corps Marathon Marina (wearing Air Pegasus, of course), I realized that a lot of Marines who wore shoes. Naturally, I asked them why and their answers were all the same: This is the footwear were in Boot Camp. Think about that. Marines make a ton of running in Boot Camp as part of their basic training. If that is what the Corps will is giving, has to be a darned good reason. Since that day, I never used any other shoe. If it's good enough for the U.S. Marines, is what good enough for the rest of us. Good luck and good performance.
