How I found the best ever iPod Headphones
All good things must come to an end, and that certainly includes the original packing headphones Apple's iPod. The minimalistic white 'buds got the job done. Although they never matched my black 30G iPod very well, I was really sorry to see them go. When bit dust after spending a long summer hiking, running, and doing outdoor work, I could have done, "said – although it could have been sweat.
Clearly, however, it was time to reload. And I decided that this time not only find the iPod headphone visual screen, I too try to improve the sound quality. One problem: he had no money. Well, not literally, but in the broke-college-student sense of the phrase. If you paid $ 100 in the headphones, I would be eating noodles in a cup for the next month.
There were a few other complicating elements too, like the fact that he wanted the new 'buds to do a better job blocking external sound, and I did not want to fall out of my ears when I bent my head to one side to take a sip coffee without the splash my textbooks.
Where does that leave me? He left me with a very high design and style demands and a budget that could barely lace a pair of Chuck Taylors. To be honest, I was not sure he would be able to do better than another factory model pair. But I started looking around online, and stumbled across the V-MODA "Bass Freq headphones. They caught my attention because it occurred in a dozen colors. When you click around to read the comments and user feedback, I experienced a sensation of ringing in my ears – was the return of quality iPod music about to happen?
Here is what my research revealed.
1. The V-MODA "Bass Freq" model had won awards from CNET and MacWorld.
2. Apparently did a good job with noise cancellation, no batteries.
3. Cones with rubber pads come in various sizes for adjustable fit.
4. The 'buds were commended for its lack of bass and treble crisp notes.
5. They were sent in designer colors (red, orange, green, blue, black, silver, pink).
6. They stayed within my narrow price range.
I decided to give them a shot, and ordered a pair of V-MODA headphones. I opted for "orange tambarine" – not because I am a hippie, but because my black iPod has always wanted tiger stripes. A week later my package arrived from Amazon. Then he sat on the couch for a week, I to open it. Actually, I tore open the elevator and listen to Iron & Wine and Radiohead about two minutes later.
What I heard made me smile. As promised, the bass notes shook and middle and high notes come through clearly. These headphones sounded better than Apple's originals, and also scored a notch higher in the style department.
As I write this article, I owned the original pair of "shoot for about 10 months, and still are in use. I have ordered additional pairs as gifts, and taking into account this model, the honorary title of "Best Earbuds Ever."
You know, better to be less than $ 30. When I graduate, I'll see what else V-MODA has on the market.
