How do I complete a mod look back home?
I am the last year of high school, and I have my home near the end of this weekend, and I was looking for some tips on how to fill out. I bought a very mod-looking dress from BCBG Max Azria after some silky lightweight fabric, with a, black, yellow and gray print. He is modest on top, but the kind of short, (as is often mod dresses.) How I can complete the look all mod without looking costumey? I was originally thinking I should wear the dress with black stockings, but I tried that and seemed strange. I plan on wearing a patent black belt and waist-peep toe pumps. What do I put on my legs? Anything? Besides, what kind of makeup will complete this look? (My current plan is only a dark smoky eye base. But I could go with a bold blue thing more …) If it's any help, I am "5'6, very thin in top, while the average from the waist down (pear-shaped, haha), with dark hair, curly brown-skinned and verrrry. My eyes are sort of greenish color. Thanks!
Good call on removing black stockings. I automatically think of a bumblebee when people mix yellow and black. A bare leg would be seen very good for summer. Beware the pale-even if the color reflects on your skin will be washed so maybe a bit of a tan would be all you need for your legs. I would add a colorful bracelet with pieces of a complementary color. Maybe try mixing some with purple smoky eye. Purple and yellow are complementary colors so that really draw attention to your eyes. Keep it simple on the lips.
